The Ministry of Defense is functional. The Pro-European Coalition is holding consultations for appointing a new minister, the leaders of the PLDM, PDM and PLR announced on March 12.

The politicians said the future minister must meet all the requirements. He must be able not only to manage this sector, but also to more energetically implement the components of the reform, IPN reports.

Vitalie Marinuta tendered his resignation at the end of February, arguing that his views on the reformation of the Ministry do not coincide with the position of the head of state, who requested transferring some of the control powers from the civil minister to the commander of the armed forces.
