As of July 27, the Consular Section of Romania’s Embassy in Chisinau will gradually restart its operations and will accept applications to obtain civil status documents (primary registration of birth, registration of birth and marriage in Romanian civil status documents) and travel documents (electronic passport), but only from persons whose appointments were cancelled owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Embassy of Romania says the applicants will get an email with the date of the new appointment by observing the chronological order of the cancellations. Already made travel and civil status documents will be then issued.
In addition to these services, the Consular Section will process applications for visas for essential trips (reunification of the family, medical situations, carriers, medical personnel) and for long-stay visas for study and work (only for highly qualified staff and seasonal agricultural workers). The other types of work visas will not be issued yet.
