After over two hours of discussion, the heavyweights of the PLDM, PL and PD on Thursday evening told the reporters that the dialogue was constructive, while the future center-right coalition may be formed by December 28, Info-Prim Neo reports. PLDM president Vlad Filat said they discuss not only the distribution of posts in the future government, but things as a whole. “Today, we took an important step, but cannot give you more details as it is a natural negotiation process. We make effort to form a functional coalition,” the Liberal-Democrat leader said after the eighth round of talks. Asked by the journalists about the progress made in the talks, the vice president of the PDM Valeriu Lazar said the dialogue was consistent, but there was made no significant progress. He said they conferred on the procedure for electing the head of state and this topic is to be developed in the next round. Valeriu Lazar also said that the meeting of the PDM and PCRM that took place several hours earlier centered on the same subjects as the trilateral talks, adding that his party has the same expectations of both of the camps. For his part, the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said Thursday’s discussion was amiable and constructive and things advanced slightly. He voiced hope that the future government coalition between the PLDM, PDM and PL will be formed by December 28. The eighth meeting between the Liberal-Democratic parties started at 7pm. The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu came to greet his negotiation partners and left, saying he got a cold and does not feel well. He missed Wednesday’s talks as well owing to the state of his health. Vlad Filat also did not attend the negotiations on December 22 as he had some important government activities. After Thursday’s talks, the politicians did not want to say when a new round will take place.
