Construction tradesmen and teachers most demanded on labour market
47.5 thousand vacant jobs were registered during 2006, of them 39.3 thousand were destined to labourers and 8.2 thousand to functionaries, data provided by the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) show. About 42.3 vacancies were registered in 2005.
Territorially, a higher number of vacant jobs were registered in the municipality of Chisinau (25.4%), municipality of Balti (11.8%), Cahul (6.2%), Gagauzia (4.0%), Orhei (3.5%), Soroca (3.4%) etc.
In 2006, the most demanded were construction tradesmen, teachers, specialists in manufacturing, food industry, engineering, medicine, insurances etc. At the same time, cooks, tractor drivers, merchandisers and drivers became more demanded. Less demanded are bookkeepers, economists, jurists, secretaries etc.
The information related to the demand and supply on the labour market is publicised by the structures of ANOFM through media, information boards, and brochures as well as via the webpage of the agency.
In order to increase the employment of the population, ANOFM implements a series of activities such as mediation during the employment process, organisation of job fairs, and professional training of the unemployed. There are also organised actions aimed at stimulating employment: involving the unemployed and the students of the higher-education institutions in the paid public works.
ANOFM has registered in its data base about 25.4 thousand persons looking for a job. They have 12.7 thousand offers. The persons with secondary and professional education were offered 9554 jobs. The seamstresses are the most demanded (2035), followed by welders, concreters, carpenters etc.
The Agency offers only 2744 jobs to the persons having higher-education, of them 437 as medical nurses, teachers – 156, educators in kindergartens – 131, inspectors – 110, doctors – 106, engineers – over 100.
