The construction of the Giurgiulesti Terminal shall be finished till August 2006, and the port of Giurgiulesti – until August 2007. Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev gave these orders on Wednesday’s Government sitting, 28 June. The minister of economy and commerce, Valeriu Lazar, stated that now the construction paces of the Terminal are faster, as result of the solid resources from the Dutch Investment Fund EasEur Holding, subdivision of the Investment Fund Eastern Capital, which has purchased Azpetrol, Azertrans and Azpetrol Refinery from the ex-founders of the companies Azpetrol Group and Azpetrol Oil Services Group. It is a benefic thing, the minister noted, as the companies need it, as because of difficulties of the management of Azpetrol led to certain financial troubles related to finishing the Terminal, scheduled for May 2006. Once the change of the owners was officially announced this week and as result of discussions with the new manager of the companies in Moldova, Lazar ensured that the works would be performed at „a higher speed”. He mentioned that changing the owners does not involve the changes of assumed obligations, as they are stipulated in the investment agreement.
