Constitutional reform commission set up in Tiraspol as well
The Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov ordered creating a commission that will draft a coordinated bill for introducing modifications to the constitution of the breakaway republic of Transnistria, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in Tiraspol reports. Smirnov delegated three members of the executive to work on the given commission.
Transnistrian minister of justice Serghei Stepanov, who is a member of the commission, said the commission will start work when the legislative body and the judiciary also delegate by three representatives.
He also said that no time limits were imposed on the commission. All the decisions will be made by consensus. If disagreements appear among the members of the commission, the leader of the region and the speaker of the local parliament will engage in the formulation of modifications acceptable to all parties.
The draft constitution submitted by Igor Smirnov to the local parliament sparked serious arguments.
