Constitutional Court validates elections and seats of elected MPs

The Constitutional Court validated the snap parliamentary elections of July 11 and the seats of the elected MPs, IPN reports.

In the meeting, president of the Central Election Commission Dorin Cimil said that 1 480 965 voters took part in the elections. The voter turnout was 52.3%, which is over 1/3 of the persons put on the voter rolls. This way, the CEC declared the snap parliamentary elections of July 11 valid.

According to the valid votes cast in favor of the election contenders, three entities passed the election threshold: the Party of Action and Solidarity with 63 seats, the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists with 32 seats and the Shor Party with six seats.

The PAS’s list includes 35 substitute candidates, the BeCS’s list – 70, while the Shor Party’s list – 95.

As a result of deliberations, the Constitutional Court confirmed the resuts of the election of the Parliament of the eleventh legislature of July 11, 2021, with the lists of MPs and substitute candidates of the parties that passed the election threshold.

The Court rejected as unfounded the request to invalidate the elections filed by the “New Historical Option” Party.

The given decision is transmitted to Parliament and the Central Election Commission. It is final, cannot be disputed, takes effect when it is adopted and is published in the Official Gazette.
