The Central Election Commission (CEC) has requested the Constitutional Court to decide whether or not Dumitru Godoroja, un-elected candidate on the party list of the former Moldova Democrata Bloc, may take up a vacant MP’s seat. The seat fell vacant in Parliament on October 5 when MP Ion Ciontoloi left the legislature for the office of Causeni district chairman. The first on the vacancy list was Anatol Turcanu, but he gave up this opportunity. As the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party didn’t claim the vacancy, the other founder of the former Bloc, the Social Democracy Party, fielded its member Dumitru Godoroja.
