Constitutional Court favored PDM by its decision, politologist

The Constitutional Court took the side of the ruling alliance members who want to preserve a dual position (of Acting President and Speaker) for as long as possible, politologist Bogdan Tardea said when asked by Info-Prim Neo to comment on the Court's decision that it is the Parliament that should fix the date of the presidential elections. The expert considers a reasonable time frame should not exceed 2-3 months. Otherwise, there is no reason for the presidency to exist. “The legal logic should be based on the politological logic and on the logic of common sense. The head of state should be elected within the same period as the Speaker and the Government,” he stated. Bogdan Tardea said the PDM may want to maximally postpone the election of the head of state and this would worsen the relations inside the ruling alliance. The Liberal Party will be dissatisfied the most as it got none of the three important political posts and is to fill the post of Speaker after the leader of the PDM is elected President, according to the previous agreements. The expert believes the PLDM also does not like that the PDM holds the first two senior posts in the state. According to him, the PCRM will exert enormous pressure on the political class and this will lead to increased instability following the social crisis caused by the price rises.
