Constitutional Court analysed 30 petitions submitted to control normative acts in 2006

About 30 petitions were submitted to the Constitutional Court in 2006 for the control of normative acts (19 laws, Parliamentary decision, and 7 Government decisions), 2 petitions for the interpretation of the Constitution and one for the revision of the Constitution. These data are presented in the report of the CC, published in the last issue of The Official Monitor of Moldova, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. 3 petitions out of 32 were examined in 2005. According to the report, the MPs submitted 21 petitions. The Government submitted for notification the draft law on the amendment of some Constitutional provisions. The Supreme Justice Court, General Prosecutor’s Office, Minister of Justice and the Central Electoral Commission have also submitted petitions. The Court verified 12 normative acts, 2 of them being considered unconstitutional. 3 law norms were considered unconstitutional and 20 law norms – constitutional. The Court made 23 decisions, including 13 related to the functional obligations of CC. The citizens of Moldova submitted 130 petitions to the CC. The most of them, namely 34 – referred to the decisions of the courts, 11 – violation of human rights and 9 – access to information and income statements. The Court answered according to the terms stipulated in the laws, is mentioned in the report.
