Constitutional commission proposed by Socialists constituted

A special parliamentary commission for drafting bills on the constitutional reform was set up at the suggestion of the Socialist MPs. This will consist of representatives of parliamentary groups, constitutional law experts and representatives of the academia and civil society, IPN reports.

According to Vasile Bolea, one of the authors of the decision, the document was drafted in a move to ensure the stability, functionality and cooperation between the branches of power, to increase the efficiency of the public administration, to guarantee the independence and legal protection of the authority of constitutional jurisdiction and to strengthen the statehood, sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova.

The commission will include 11 MPs, namely Vasile Bolea (chairman), Grigore Novac, Adrian Lebedinschi and Ștefan Gațcan on behalf of the Party of Socialists, Serghei Sîrbu (secretary) on behalf of For Moldova, and Denis Ulanov from the Shor Party.  The other groups didn’t delegate representatives to work on the commission.
