Constantin Tanase presents his new book to readers

Editorialist Constantin Tanase on May 17 presented his most recent book titled “Hole with Lions” that was printed at the publishing house “Litera”. The book launch was attended by people of art, politicians, readers and admirers of the author. In the book’s preface, Constantin Tanase says the book is dedicated to all those who believe in and fight for the Romanian and European future of Moldova, IPN reports.

“Though I said what we wanted to say in this book, there are yet many unsaid things. One cannot understand what the book deals with until they don’t read it. It is about the war and about love, but its essence can be perceived only by reading it. After another four books that depicted Moldova’s history after the proclamation of independence, the “Hole with Lions” describes all the difficulties  experienced by the country in the last 17 years,” said Constantin Tanase.

He confessed that the book was to be a textbook for journalists, but when he wrote several hundred pages he threw them away and started from the very beginning. “This book was written in a hurry, but with a lot of nerve and love. A very important political cycle closes in Moldova this year. Nobody knows what will happen before or after the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU. It’s yet clear that Moldova enters a new political paradigm,” stated the author.

Writer Vladimir Besleaga said the new book of Constantin Tanase is in fact a cry of this man’s soul. “We, the generation from after the war have the duty to write and record the history of this country. It’s not at all easy because others wrote it for us during many years and used us as raw material for writing their stories,” he stated.

Romanian Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca noted that Constantin Tanase is not a simple person. “He is a clan that managed to show the truth of his own convictions through his sons and grandsons. There are not many like Constantin Tanase and, in a selfish way, I’m glad about this. Otherwise, the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau would not be necessary,” he said.
