Constantin Codreanu, who is a member of Romania’s Parliament, is the candidate of the National Unity Party (PUN) for mayor general of Chisinau municipality. The announcement was made by the party’s president of honor, ex-President of Romania Traian Basescu in a news conference, IPN reports.
According to Traian Basescu, Constantin Codreanu is a man who is irreproachable in terms of morality. He hasn’t been involved in politics in Moldova and served the unionist idea.
Traian Basescu also said that PUN suggests a long-race mayor who would transform Chisinau into a city that the people would like. “Given that we are determined to stay behind Constantin Codreanu, with the experience of bringing European money for financing the projects needed by Chisinau, my conviction is that we suggest the best solution to the citizens of Chisinau,” he stated.
For his part, Constantin Codreanu said the city is in a profound crisis and things here worsened. Chisinau needs a real “restart” now. “A real plan is needed to reform the administration of Chisinau municipality. A series of reforms should be done to restructure the whole administration system,” he noted.
