Constant water supply provided to Nezavertailovka village in Transnistrian region
Starting today, November 23, the schools, kindergartens and more than a half of the residents of Nezavertailovka village in Slobozia district, the Transnistrian region, can enjoy constant water supply after the local water and sewer piping systems were repaired under an initiative as part of the EU-funded “Support to the Confidence Building Measures” Project.
The activities were carried out by a number of NGOs in partnership with the local authorities. In addition to the water supply rehabilitation, the project helped to renovate the cafeterias, the kitchens and the bathrooms in the village's educational establishments.
The 476 schoolchildren and 66 children of pre-school age in Nezavertailovka have now constant access to water supply and can use the renovated bathrooms, provided with hot water supply, which essentially reduces the risks of infection, it was said in a press release from UNDP Moldova, the implementer of the Project.
Additionally, there were renovated five water towers in the village, doubling the number of users and trebling the amount of provided water. The residents of the village participated actively in the rehabilitation works.
