Another batch of 150,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine made in the U.S. was shipped to Chisinau today through the COVAX Facility. The doses will be distributed proportionally to the national vaccination units, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
According to secretary of state at the Ministry of Health Tatiana Zatîc said the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is in demand in the Republic of Moldova. About 59,000 persons have been reportedly administered this vaccine so far. Moldova now has different types of vaccines and they are all safe and efficient. The population should get a vaccine by following the examples of doctors, teachers and all those who realized that COVID-19 is a real threat to the healthy and future of the people.
The Republic of Moldova until now received 301,200 Johnson & Johnson vaccines of the over 500,000 planned.
The Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, developed by the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, is designed to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 18 years of age and older. Clinical studies showed it is 66.3% efficient against all the forms of disease and fully prevents hospitalization due to COVID-19. Over 20 million Johnson & Johnson doses have been administered all over the world so far. The Vaccine was authorized by the U.S. authorities and the European Union and received the prequalification status from the WHO.
