Over 600 ecstasy pills were found in the vehicle of a Chisinau resident, who was driving under the influence of drugs. The man, 34, was arrested by the agents of the Criminal Police Department of the General Police Office, Info-Prim Neo informs. As a result of several investigation operations, the agents of the Botanica Police Office stopped a Mercedes Sprinter with Dutch number plates on Sciusev Street. During the arrest, the driver was intoxicated and tried to put up resistance to the policemen. He eventually surrendered. As a result of the search, the policemen found 608 pills included in the “Ecstasy” drugs category. It was found that the drugs were produced in Holland and were targeting the Eastern European market. The pills were sold in Moldova at the price of EUR 10 a pill. The police officers do not exclude the fact that the arrested person could be involved in an international network of drug dealers. The man is charged with illegal transport of narcotic drugs. If he will be found guilty, he might be jailed for 8-12 years.
