Minister of the Interior Alexandru Jizdan, when asked by Prime Minister Pavel Filip in the Cabinet meeting, said the recent heavy rain left 22 localities in southern Moldova without electricity.
According to the minister, a lyceum in Codru town was flooded. A team of rescuers is pumping water out of the school. There were also flooded a number of basements.
No other details were given. Alexandru Jizdan promised more information will be made public when the extent of the caused damage is gauged.
