President Maia Sandu said International Women’s Day is not only about flowers and presents, but also about the efforts made by many generations of women and men to ensure equal chances and rights. Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi described the women as the backbone of the contemporary civilization. Parliament Speake Zinaida Grechanyi wished them warmth, love in the hearts, understanding in the family and success in work. The officials disseminated congratulatory messages on the occasion of International Women’s Day that is celebrated on March 8, IPN reports.
Maia Sandu said that now more than ever, the women can be what they want and they are free and strong. “I never doubted the power of women in Moldova. It is not easy to bear responsibility for your life and actions, but this way you can realize your potential. I wish every girl and woman in our country to know: she can become who she wants – researcher, successful entrepreneur, minister or President – if she works with determination, has courage and does not forget what power she has. There are yet many things to be done to ensure equality of chances. We must end domestic violence that affects primarily women. We have to work to ensure the economic equality between women and men. We want a society in which all the people can fully realize their potential, in harmony and respect,” says the President’s message.
Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi expressed his respect for the valuable contribution, professionalism and intelligence shown by women during the development of the Republic of Moldova and for building a better future of the next generations. “The women’s efforts, devotion and experience in all the areas of professional activity are essential for the sustainable development of our county,” says his message. To the men, Aureliu Ciocoi wished courage and intelligence to justly appreciate the women and to enjoy their efforts, experience and contribution.
For her part, Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi expressed her gratitude and respect for the women of all professions, primarily for those who during these moments watch over the safety and health of the citizens. “Dear women, God bless what you have dearest! Let the light of your love and power to protect and help you, while health and good moods to always accompany you! Let all the women of Moldova be loved, happy and protected!” reads the Speaker’s message.
Minister of Education, Culture and Research Lilia Pogolșa, in the name of her team, congratulated the woman, saying that in the unprecedented pandemic situation, they proved an exemplary civic example by their work and professionalism. “The ladies who represent the educational, scientific, cultural and sports communities in the Republic of Moldova assume their missions with dignity and stoicism, with nobleness and love for the citizens. As mothers, daughters, sisters, grandchildren, wives, friends, you manage to inspire by your own example, showing ineffable moral force,” noted Lilia Pogolșa.
The mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban wished the women love, happiness and accomplishments. “During the current times of pandemic, you, female doctors and medical assistants, daily save lives, risking your own health. You are an example of courage. You, female teachers and educators, who, despite the hard times, with a lot of love and devotion, take care of our children. There are other tens of areas of activity, where by your involvement, Chisinau develops and prospers,” says his message.
