occasion of the 20th anniversary of the proclamation of the country’s
independence, which is celebrated on August 27. The United States joint
the Moldovan people in welcoming the results achieved by the Republic of
Moldova during the 20 years of independence, especially the effort made
during the last two years of transition to a society based on the
principle of democracy and the rule of law. The U.S. wants to see
Moldova making progress in the European integration process and will
continue to support Moldova in this process,” reads Barack Obama’s

civil society up to a more prosperous economy. He reiterated that the
U.S. will continue to be Moldova’s partner and to support it in its
efforts to promote development and political and economic reforms.
