Conditions were created for a civilized divorce between Chisinau and Tiraspol, Transnistrian politologist
“Moldova should give in and recognize the Moldovan Transnistrian Republic as independent,” Veaceslav Sirik, expert of the Russian-Transnistrian Information Analytical Center, said before the trilateral meeting of Vladimir Voronin, Igor Smirnov and Dmitry Medvedev set to take place in Moscow, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent in Tiraspol reports.
According to the politologist, the meeting in Moscow is an important event for the new political season. He considers that necessary conditions were created for a civilized divorce between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
“The official Tiraspol hopes that Russia’s mediation effort will give a new impetus to the negotiating process,” Veaceslav Sirik said. “The current negotiating process can be hardly named dialogue,” he added.
In Moscow, the Transnistrian delegation intends to discuss the Treaty of Cooperation and Friendship with Moldova and a number of economic issues.
