Concert to be held in Chisinau on Romanian Language Day

The Chisinau City Hall is organizing on August 31, beginning at 5:30 PM, a concert in the Great Assembly Square to pay homage to the Romanian Language, IPN reports.

The concert will be opened by the the Brothers Advahov's folk music orchestra, who will accompany to the soloists Zinaida Julea, Mihai Ciobanu, Igor Cuciuc, Doina Sulac and the bands Brio Sonoris and Plaiesii. A session of “national revival” songs will follow, performed by Nina Crulicovschi, Ricu Voda, Lidia Botezatu, Radu Dolgan, Gheorghe Topa, Iurie Sadovnic and the band Catharsis.

The famous composer Eugen Doga will perform alongside an orchestra composed of virtuosos from the National Opera and the Teleradio-Moldova Orchestra, conducted by Dumitru Circiumaru.

For the first time in the Great Assembly Square, a symphonic orchestra will “duel” Alex Calancea Band. The event will feature as soloists Natalia Barbu, Catalin Josan, Tania Cerga, Adrian Ursu, Dara & Carla`s Dreams and many other pop singers.
