Concert on Chisinau’s Day will be dedicated to anniversary of Orchestra of Advahov Brothers

The traditional concert held on the Day of Chisinau on October 14 this year will be dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the municipal Orchestra of the Advahov Bothers. It hasn’t been yet decided where the stage will be set up, but the local authorities say the celebrations will be different from those of the previous years, given the current context and the protests mounted in the center of the city. The subject was discussed in the October 5 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, IPN reports.

Head of the Culture Division Lucia Culev said the concert dedicated to the anniversary of the orchestra will involve over 30 national instrumentalists and artists and invitees from abroad who will sing pop, symphonic and folk music. A new project will be launched on the City’s Day to revive the old songs. Catalin Josan and Alex Calancea Band will give a first performance of the song “If I have had”, based on the poem by Mihai Eminescu and on Anatol Chirica’s music.

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that this year the holiday will be different. The place where the concert will be staged hasn’t been chosen yet, but this could be the Great National Assembly Square. The local authorities are also considering the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral and the pedestrian street as venues.
