A new edition of the project “Small Country – Big Song: Music of the 1960-1980s” will take place on February 10. The Government said that this year’s edition is a tribute to the great artist Ștefan Petrache, who would have turned 75 this year, IPN reports.
The concert will consist of 27 famous songs and also less known songs made by 50 young musicians. Among the soloists who will perform are Cătălin Josan, Radu Dolgan, Nicu Țărnă, Vlad Fotescu, Gicu Cimbir and Ștefan Albu. Liviu Știrbu, Petre Toma, Lidia Botezatu and Voices Moldova choir will be the special guests.
The concert will be given at “Nicolae Sulac” National Palace in Chisinau.
Ștefan Petrache, a People’s Artist and Knight of the Order of the Republic, passed away on January 13, 2020. He was the vocalist of the bands “Noroc”, “Orizont”, “Contemporanul” and “Plai”. Among the songs that made him famous are “I come”, “Truths”, “And if branches knock on the window”, “In August”, “The call of the parental home”, etc.
