Concept for organizing alimentation in kindergartens hasn’t been modified, MP

After the scandal concerning the rigging of tender contests when purchasing food products for schools and kindergartens in Chisinau of the end of 2016, the concept for organizing the alimentation in kindergartens hasn’t been modified. Neither the recommendations of the parliamentary commission that was constituted at that time were implemented, stated Socialist MP Radu Mudreac, who headed that commission, IPN reports.

The MP told a news conference that then the commission recommended that the medical assistants who work in education institutions should be transferred from the management of the director under the management of family doctors centers. But this proposal wasn’t supported by the Government. However, such a move would have been a guarantee that the medical assistants during leave were replaced by other colleagues and they would have received higher pays.

Radu Mudreac said the shortage of cooks and of technical personal in education institutions was another problem signaled then. The given situation remained unchanged. The public tender contests continue to be held based on interests and corruption. “We will not allow something like this. The state institutions should fulfil their duties. When functionaries are involved, these would be held accountable. This is our position,” stated the MP.

The commission of inquiry was set up at the end of November 2016, after it was established that the tender contests to purchase food products for schools and kindergartens in Chisinau were rigged by favoring business entities. Aiming to make a higher profit based on the signed contracts, the companies supplied products of a lower quality than the one indicated in agreements.
