For every one vacant seat in the Comrat Municipal Council there are roughly 12 candidates: 78 independents and 10 candidates representing different parties. The first number on the ballot is incumbent Mayor Nicolai Dudoglo, who runs independently. Number two is Liberal-Democrat Petru Vlas, followed by Democrat Petru Mavrodi and independent Constantin Sibov. Three other candidates who submitted their applications until the deadline on May 5 are to be authorized in the coming days. These are Vasile Croitor (independent), Petru Leicovici (Moldova's Patriots) and Leonid Dobrov (the Ecologist Party).
