Computed Tomography Center opened in Orhei

A Computed Tomography Center was inaugurated at the Orhei District Hospital on April 17, within the first public-private partnership in healthcare. “Following requests from the local authorities of Orhei and the Ministry of Health, an economic entity made investments in the reconstruction of this public building and purchased the necessary equipment. Consequently, the examinations in Orhei are now performed professionally and an accurate diagnosis is made, plus an additional analysis in Chisinau,” Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in the opening, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Government’s press service, Vlad Filat asked the Ministry of Health to assess in half a year the Tomography Center’s work and determine the number of consulted patients and their satisfaction level. Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi said the patients with health insurance policy will not pay for the given medical examinations. The Center’s personnel were trained abroad. The responsibility for the provided services is borne by the company Euroclinic, while the Ministry of Health has the task of examining the Center’s work. The Center has a computed topographer, mammographer and orthopantomographer. The project was implemented under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and the Economy Ministry’s Public Property Agency during April 15, 2011 and April 4, 2012. Euroclinic invested about 9 million lei in the project, about 2 million lei of which in the repair of the building, while 6 million lei in the acquisition of the equipment. The inauguration was attended by directors of other national hospitals.
