The composition of the Supreme Security Council could be modified, President Igor Dodon stated in the program “Important” on TVC21 channel. He noted that this will happen if Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu do not come to the meetings of the Council, IPN reports.
According to Igor Dodon, in such a situation there will be no other solution than to modify the composition of the Council. “I prepared a decree to change the composition of the Supreme Security Council. If we continue to face the risk of boycott on the part of the Government, Parliament, I refer to those who should be part of the Council in accordance with the law – the Premier, Speaker, Prosecutor General, chief of the National Anticorruption Center and minister of defense - we will modify the composition of the Council so that we have a quorum without them. This is permitted,” said the President.
He also said he will propose that the Supreme Security Council during the next weeks should discuss the Kroll 2 report and synthesis, including why the Kroll 2 report wasn’t presented to the Head of State and how the Premier could read it before this reached the National Bank. “We will consider these subjects during the next few weeks,” stated President Dodon.
Igor Dodon noted that no great progress in investigating the banking frauds will be made until there is another parliamentary majority in Moldova. “People who weren’t in power at the time when the US$ 1 billion was being stolen should come and we will then start to learn more details,” he stated.
