Competition for state-funded cultural projects

The Ministry of Culture has launched a competition for obtaining financing for cultural projects of non-commercial organizations from the 2025 state budget. The total budget for non-reimbursable financing in 2025 is 9 million lei. More precisely, 6 million is intended for annual projects and 3 million for multiannual projects, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Culture, the total amount granted to an annual cultural project is no more than 300,000 lei, and the total amount allocated for a multiannual cultural project is no more than 900,000 lei.

The Ministry has announced a series of additional priorities for the new year, namely proposals for cultural projects that will focus on celebrating and promoting the literary and cultural bequest of poet Mihai Eminescu in connection with the declaring of 2025 the "Year of Mihai Eminescu".

Also, in the context of the implementation of the European integration agenda, projects that will contribute to local integration and development on European cultural platforms will be encouraged.

Another priority will be cultural projects regarding the development of cultural and linguistic diversity programs, including cooperation with cultural organizations from the left bank of the Nistru.

The development and implementation of cultural projects with a focus on combating disinformation and raising the awareness and media literacy of citizens, as well as projects on research and valorization of the national cultural heritage will also be a priority.

The deadline for submissions is March 11, 2025.
