Competition for innovations in governmen

The e-Government Center in cooperation with development partners, civil society and private sector launches the competition “Innovations in Government!” The competition is organized for central and local authorities, as well as for officials who through creative use of modern technologies, contribute to the improvement of public services and prevention of corruption thus encouraging a participatory democracy, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Center. Prizes will consist of products or services to support innovations, such as website development, internet connection, computers, mobile devices, tablets, software licenses, etc. Winning applications will be promoted at the national level within the conference on innovations in the public sector in December 2012, organized by the e-Government Center. The competition has five categories: (1) Prevention of corruption; (2) Improvement of public services; (3) Citizens’ involvement; (4) Increase of internal efficiency; (5) Promotion of transparency. The projects registered for the competition should describe the successful use of an innovative software application already in use, which is used via the web, computer or a mobile device. The following persons are eligible for registration: central public authorities (including ministries, agencies, subordinated authorities), local public authorities, civil servants or consultants employed for a short term within CPA/LPA. We encourage cooperation with civil society and IT developers. The competition is organized in partnership with the Soros Foundation, United Nations Development Program, World Bank, the Association of ICT Companies, and East Europe Foundation.
