The Chisinau City Hall decided to keep the compensations of 40% of the heat bills in the 2012/2013 heating season. The persons who want to get compensations must submit an application to the housing stock manager, while in the case of suburbs – to the mayor’s office, and present the documents showing that the monthly income of the family does not exceed 1,450 lei per member. “Our criterion is not the TV set or refrigerator that the persons who ask for compensations possess. The main criterion is the monthly income that should not be higher than 1,450 lei a month. The dwellers will have to file applications to confirm their incomes,” the head of the General Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea has told Info-Prim Neo. “It was suggested use social questionnaires at the families that claim compensations of 40%,” said the Division’s head. Asked about the sums that the local authorities compensate monthly, Petru Gontea said that they vary from month to month, depending on the volume of consumed heat. There are cases when they amount to 1,000 lei per recipient. More than 38,000 residents of Chisinau received compensations of 40% of the heat bills the previous heating season.
