The unemployed, pensioners, invalids and employees with a salary lower than 1,450 lei who filed applications for being paid compensations for trips by urban public transport during the first ten days of October can take them from October 20, the head of the General Social Assistance Division Eugenia Ceban announced at Monday's meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. About 30,000 Chisinau residents submitted applications during the first ten days of the approval of the regulations on the payment of compensations. The applications will be accepted during a month or a month and a half so that all the beneficiaries manage to file them. Under a decision by the Chisinau Municipal Council, all the residents of the municipality of Chisinau on a monthly income lower than 1,450 lei will receive compensations of 70 lei a month for paying for trips by public means of transport. The Chisinau administration also pays compensations for heat. About 17,500 families benefited from such compensations the previous heating season, while 921 vulnerable families from the settlements that form part of the municipality of Chisinau received wood and coal to the value of 2.281 million lei.
