Compensations for heat will oscillate between 800 and 1,400 lei

The compensations for heat for January will vary between 800 and 1,400 lei, depending on the heating source. This is provided in a draft decision that was approved on Wednesday by the Cabinet, IPN reports.

At most 1,400 lei in compensation will be given to consumers who are supplied with heat and to those who heat their homes with electricity. For consumers who indicated natural gas as the main heating source, the highest compensation will be 1,000 lei, and for those who heat their homes with solid fuels – 800 lei.

In addition to the compensations calculated for those who will benefit from at least the minimum compensation for heat, these household consumers will be granted an additional compensation for electricity in the amount of 200 lei for January.

The compensations will be provided in February to households that were already registered in the "Meter Assistance" program.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu said that the state in January paid compensations for heat to about 680,000 families registered in the aforementioned program.
