Moldovans will receive their December energy compensations starting January 10, officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection told IPN.

People who submitted applications in November do not have to repeat them, regardless of whether they had the status of vulnerable or non-vulnerable consumer.

All those registered in the scheme are re-verified every month and the amount of compensation is adjusted in line with the increase in tariffs.

Yesterday, December 25, was the last day to submit applications for December compensation. Applications can continue to be submitted on any date, but compensation for eligible consumers will be offered from the following month. They will not be granted retroactively.

For the third consecutive year, the Government is offering energy compensation to vulnerable households through the "Help on Meter" program. The compensations are granted from the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, financed from the state budget with the support of the European Union and other development partners. While previously the compensation was given in the form of a bill or in a mixed form, this year it will be given exclusively in monetary form, i.e. money that goes directly to the beneficiaries' cards or can be picked up at the post office.
