Large and small companies operating in Moldova, which will invest in the expansion and development of the business, can apply to the first state aid mechanism. The state will return to them up to 60% of the investments made in such areas as electronics, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, automotive industry and aftermarket, textile and apparel industry, building materials industry and food industry, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization said that the state aid will be awarded according to the formula: 25% will be provided immediately, in the form of non-reimbursable grants, and 75% of the refunded amount will be allocated in the form of 50% exemptions from income tax.
The total budget of this mechanism is at least 2 billion lei, with the possibility of extending it in case of higher demand.
Under the National Industrialization Program, investments by 2036 are expected to total over €500 million.
The state aid will be distributed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. In order to benefit from this support mechanism, companies must be eligible according to several criteria. Thus, it must be a new investment, of at least 10 million lei, and the investment must be made specifically in the sectors of the manufacturing industry.
"The state aid mechanism for investments in the industry of the Republic of Moldova represents a clear commitment of the Government of the Republic of Moldova to support the industry and investors in the Republic of Moldova, local and foreign ones, through the agency of a clear, predictable and well-structured framework that complies with European standards and is meant to bring real benefits throughout the country," said the Ministry.
The application files can already be submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization.
