Companies dissatisfied with application of orientative prices at customs
Representatives of companies attending a roundtable meeting at the Ministry of Economy on April 23 expressed their dissatisfaction with the application of orientative prices at customs. According to them, these prices contribute to the rise in the selling prices on the home market, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Marian Teleuca, the manager of an importing company, said the customs inspectors “tax not only the imported fish, but also the salty Baltic Sea water.”
Some of the companies that employ persons with disabilities benefit from tax concessions and import larger volumes than they need for processing, said Marian Teleuca. “I'm not against providing tax concessions for these companies, but they should be exempted from paying taxes only on the volumes that they can process,” the businessman added.
Tudor Besleaga, the chairman of the Board of an Orhei company, spoke about the effects produced by the cancellation of order 36. “Under the order, every imported consignment was to be certified. We think that its cancellation was in fact a radical measure as the illegal import of cans, through Transnistria for example, make our products noncompetitive,” he said.
Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac said the talks with the foreign trade partners will be continued so as to improve the customs regime.
The imports in the first quarter of this year remained stagnant, while the exports rose by about 16%.
