A Community House for children in situations of risk from Chisinau will be officially opened on October 26. Acting head of the municipal Child Rights Protection Division Rodica Terehovski said 12 children will be placed in this service, IPN reports.
In the October 24 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, Rodica Terehovski stated that the beneficiaries of this service will enjoy the best conditions and everything they missed while in the residential service.
The service is designed to ensure the development of children in an environment close to the familial one for a determined period of time. The Community House is intended for children and teens aged between 10 and 18, who are temporarily or permanently deprived of familial environment and cannot be placed with the extended family, in the family-type children home and the professional parent assistance service or put up for adoption. In case of siblings, the beneficiaries can be younger that ten, but not younger than six.
At the Community House, the children will benefit from accommodation and food and from assistance in studying school programs, etc. They will develop life habits, cognitive-communication abilities and behavioral skills.
The Community House for children in situations of risk was created with the financial support of the public association “Lumos Moldova”.
