The Chisinau City Hall will implement a news service intended for children with severe disabilities. Within the project, a community center will be built with the financial support of the British association Hope and Homes for Children, through its official representative association Child, Community, Family Moldova.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the Chisinau Child Rights Protection Division Svetlana Chifa said that the community center will provide services similar to those offered by family-type children’s homes. The community house will have a capacity of 8-10 places. The children with severe disabilities will be placed at the community center so as not to be institutionalized at the boarding school in Orhei.

For the building works to start, the Chisinau Council must adopt a decision and allocate a plot in the municipality. The draft decision was already submitted to the municipal councilors for consideration. The designing and building costs haven’t been yet determined.
