Communists, Social-Democrats to stage common rallies
The Communist Party and the Social-Democratic Party will stage rallies together to demand Parliament hold a national referendum on Moldova's accession to the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union, the parties' leaders told reporters on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The citizens of Moldova alone must decide which path our country should follow, which is of course the path of integration into the Customs Union. We pledge to unite our forces to make this referendum happen”, stated Communist leader Vladimir Voronin.
Social-Democrat leader Victor Shelin said the Alliance for European Integration has no right to obstruct the freedom of the citizens to choose which path Moldova should embark on.
The two parties staged a common protest rally outside the Palace of the Republic on the fist meeting of the ongoing Parliament's session.
