Communists seek new parliamentary elections

Communist MPs and about 100 sympathizers of the Communist Party, who were mainly elderly people, protested in front of the Palace of the Republic before the start of the October 3 sitting of Parliament. They demanded holding new parliamentary elections, IPN reports.

This week the Communists have staged a number of protests and even blocked roads. The protesters sought the reopening of the schools that were closed after the implementation of the education reform.

Last week the Communists also protested, demanding that the Government provide explanations as to why the state-owned shareholding in Banca de Economii (Savings Bank) was reduced and for conceding the Chisinau International Airport. On October 3, the Cabinet is to render a report in Parliament.
