Communists say AEI tries to politically subordinate Teleradio-Moldova

The Communists Party (PCRM) accuses the Alliance for European Integration of taking actions, including illegal, to politically subordinate Teleradio-Moldova Company, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on December 11, Comunist MP Grigore Petrenko said the members of the Alliance try to fraudulently modify the composition of the Supervisory Board. According to him, the head of the parliamentary commission for the mass media Corina Fusu asked the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) to announce a contest to fill the vacant posts of Board member, but this is an illegal act. Petrenko said that a letter was sent to the Supervisory Board from the commission, but the given issue was not discussed at its meeting. Furthermore, the BCC held a contest for five persons, though only three posts were vacant, the Communist MP said. Corina Fusu told the reporters that the accusations made by the representatives of the PCRM are groundless. “The letter addressed to the BCC is legal. We only announced the Council that it can organize a rerun contest as the commission for the mass media selected none of the candidates.” Fusu also said that the major objective now is to make the Supervisory Board functional as it cannot hold meetings at present. “Teleradio-Moldova is a public company that must meet certain standards, but it does not at the moment,” she said.
