Communists refuse to attend Jose Manuel Barroso’s speech

Any political support given to the ruling alliance of Moldova means only discrediting of the European flag, the leader of the Communist Party (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin said in a press briefing on November 29, referring to the visit of the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso to Chisinau. He also said that the Communist lawmakers will not come to listen to the speech of the high-ranking European official, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Today we see that there is no common agenda in the relations with a Brussels organization that became the advocate of sn antidemocratic and anti-European regime that maintains the power in Moldova by force,” stated Vladimir Voronin. The head of the Communist faction Maria Postoiko could not say for sure if she will take part in the meeting of the European Commission President and the leaders of parliamentary groups. She stated that the Liberals are also in doubt as to whether to participate or not, making reference to the statements of the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that Zinaida Greceanyi will take part in the meeting with Barroso as head of the faction of unaffiliated MPs, which is not recognized by the Liberals. Jose Manuel Barroso arrives in Chisinau today, November 29. Tomorrow he will have meetings with senior officials and leaders of the parliamentary groups. The European official will deliver a speech at the National Palace.
