Communists leave sitting of Parliament

The Communist lawmakers left the June 6 sitting of Parliament in protest that a bill proposed by their faction wasn’t included in the agenda. The proposal referred to the formulation of a joint plan of action with the CIS states for marking the Victory Day against Fascism.

MP Artur Reshetnikov has told IPN that an agreement was reached by the Prime Ministers of the CIS states as regards the organization of common activities. On behalf of Moldova, the agreement was signed by former Premier Vlad Filat.

The Communist MPs proposed including a bill to this effect in the agenda when Parliament started to examine the bills. Head of Parliament Igor Corman said that under the legislature’s regulations, the proposals for the agenda are submitted at the beginning of the sitting.

The Communists replied that they followed the example of other parliamentary groups that, in the sitting one week ago, included the election of Deputy Speakers in the agenda in the same way, without informing the other factions beforehand.

All the Communist MPs went away. The sitting went on.
