The members and supporters of the Communist Party of Moldova on April 22 laid flowers at the monument to Vladimir Ilici Lenin on the occasion of141 years of the birth of the leader of the Socialist Revolution of 1917, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Lenin was a genius. Everything that Lenin wrote has a reflection nowadays,” said the leader of the PCRM. Vladimir Voronin expressed his conviction that sooner or later the ideas of socialism will embrace Moldova and the whole world as these ideas have prospects, according to him. Igor Dodon, the PCRM’s candidate for Mayor of Chisinau, did not lay flowers at the monument to Lenin. Asked by the reporters to explain why his colleague was absent, Vladimir Voronin said he does not know the reasons, but presumes that Igor Dodon is having meetings with the voters. By tradition, the leaders of the PCRM handed over party membership cards to the new members, especially the young ones. According to MP Iurie Muntean, 186 persons became members of the PCRM today. Vladimir Ilici Lenin was born on April 22, 1870. He headed the Bolshevik Party and was a driving force behind the Russian Revolution of 1917.
