The Communist MPs blocked the Parliament’s rostrum, hampering the voting of a bill on the denationalization of public property. The bill shortens the list of property that cannot be privatized from 175 state-owned enterprises to 102, IPN reports.
Communist MP Eduard Musuc said the Government wants to sell the whole country in secret. “They suggest allowing the Government to take decisions on certain publicly owned facilities. At the same time, they propose removing about 100 state-run companies from the list of enterprises that cannot be privatized. Thus, almost half of the public property will be privatized in secret, without the people knowing about this,” he stated.
He presented the list of companies that cannot be privatized. It includes all the thermoelectric and power companies - RED Nord, Red Nord Vest, CET 1, CET 2, and SA Termocom – as well as “Gara de Nord” (“Northern Bus Station”), “Moldova Film”, “Orasul Vinului” (“Wine Town”), Moldova’s Water and others. “This bill cannot be passed,” said Eduard Musuc.
His faction colleague Iurie Muntean said the author of the bill is the Democratic MP Vlad Plahotniuc, who wants to ‘privatize’ the country.
Following this reaction of the Communists, the lawmakers took a break.
