Communists ask Romania to withdraw its ‘servants’ from Moldova

The Communist Party of Moldova (PCRM) sent a note to Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca, asking him to tell the competent Romanian authorities that they should withdraw all the persons with high-ranking positions who have Romanian nationality. The Communists said that those persons swore an oath of allegiance to Romania and thus they promote the national interests of Romania and contribute to the usurpation of power in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference, Communist MP Alexandr Petkov said the persons to whom the PCRM refers are the First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc, the leader of the Liberal parliamentary group Ion Hadirca, the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet, and the chairman of the Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase. “Your Excellency, we ask you respectfully to tell the competent Romanian authorities to take measures and withdraw their ‘savants’ from the Moldovan political sphere. By their behavior, these persons contribute to the violation of the constitutional provisions in Moldova and shook the national and international public opinion, causing serious damage to Romania’s image abroad,” the Communist lawmaker said, citing the note. The Communist MPs consider that all the protests staged lately followed the decisions taken personally or by complicity by persons who obtained Romanian nationality. Alexandr Petkov also said that the Romanian state is asked to warn Moldovan Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu, who applied for Romanian nationality, that any provocation against the peaceful protesters will have a negative influence on Romania’s image. The note was signed by Communist lawmakers Alexandr Petkov, Anatolie Zagorodnyi, and Ion Ceban.
