Communists and Socialists protest against government

Representatives and sympathizers of the Party of Communists and the Party of Socialists mounted a protest in front of the Government Building. MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists came to level criticisms at country’s administration, IPN reports.

MP Grigor Novac described the government as criminal, noting that it had brought the country to its knees. “We can easily see that everything they touch is destroyed. The Railways, which for years was a profitable enterprise and brought tens and hundreds of millions of lei into the state budget, today is no longer profitable, as they say. More and more voices in the government tell us that the enterprise must end up in private hands. Gentlemen, we can tell you one thing – the problem is that you are uncappable of managing an enterprise,” said the parliamentarian.

MP Diana Caraman said that the representatives of the government behave cowardly, refuse to report to the people on the situation in the field of social assistance, the situation of personal assistants, the increase in prices, high bills, but also censorship in the media. “Today we came to the Government to ask for answers from these incompetent officials. Today we ask Recean and ministers to come out in front of the people and answer questions that really interest the citizens,” stated Diana Caraman.

MP Valeriu Muduc accused the government of total incompetence. “They say that they want to take the country to and fro, forgetting about the promises they made when the country elected them... No one has to assume the direction of the country. It is the people of the Republic of Moldova who should decide this. We are an independent state and the fate is decided only by the people,” noted Valeriu Muduc.

MP Adrian Albu said that today the employees of the Moldovan Railways are dissatisfied, social and personal assistants are dissatisfied, but those from the government never come down to listen to citizens’ problems. “We have to import fruits, vegetables from European countries. Our labor force leaves for the European Union and we remain here with ordinary people, who cannot pay the bills, for food, waiting for paltry pensions and salaries,” stated the MP.

In connection with the protest, the Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă said that the executive will not comment on the rally, but it respects the people’s right to peaceful assemblies organized in accordance with the law. “We continue the Government’s mission to modernize localities, guarantee the citizens’ security, contribute to increasing incomes and creating jobs here, at home,” stated Daniel Vodă.
