Communist withdraw from inquiry committee on KGB archives

The Communist Party has withdrawn all its representatives from the parliamentary inquiry committee that has been tasked to examine KGB archives, Info-Prim Neo reports. Last week, the Communists delegated MPs Igor Vremea, Zinaida Chistruga, Alexandr Petcov and Artur Resetnicov to form part of the committee. Liberal Valeriu Munteanu objected to Artur Resetnicov's membership, recalling that he once ran the Security and Intelligence Service. The Liberals requested that each member be voted in separately, but the Communists objected. Speaking to Info-Prim Neo, Valeriu Munteanu said the committee will do fine without the Communist representatives. By 1 March 2013, the committee is due to present to Parliament a report on the amount and classification degree of the Moldavian SSR KGB's files. The committee includes MPs Vladimir Hotineanu, George Mocanu and Lilian Zaporojan, representing the Liberal-Democrats; Liberal Valeriu Munteanu; and Democrat Alexandru Stoianoglo.
