Communist MPs return to Parliament’s sittings

The parliamentary group of the Communists Party (PCRM) will resume attending the sittings of the legislative body, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the party. According to the communiqué, the Political Executive Committee of the PCRM, in its August 26 meeting, decided to oblige the Communist MPs to stop boycotting the sittings and return to them. The parliamentary group of the PCRM is to attentively monitor the situation, actively use the parliamentary rostrum to inform the Moldovan and European communities about the worrying political trends, and to oppose the attempts to liquidate Moldova’s constitutional organization. According to the Political Executive Committee, irregularities were identified in the process of organizing the September 5 constitutional referendum. “In the given circumstances, the referendum announced by the authorities is an extremely dangerous event in Moldova’s history. It is not excluded that after the referendum, if its results are invalidated, the Government could resort to anticonstitutional actions and take attempts to sign into law documents that would legalize the usurpation of power by the Alliance for European Integration and would endanger Moldova’s statehood,” says the communiqué.
