Communist MPs missed Parliament sittings most often

In 2011 the Communist lawmakers absented themselves from the sittings of the legislature most often. The Parliamentary Documentation Division calculated 649 absences of members of the Communist parliamentary group, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting an informative note. The Communist MPs boycotted the Parliament’s sittings in June-August as they did not agree with the results of the local elections in the municipality of Chisinau. Mihail Poleanschi, Vladimir Voronin and Grigore Petrenko had the largest number of absences. The Liberal-Democrat lawmakers had last year 124 absences. Valeriu Ghiletski and Liliana Palihovich missed many sittings owing to trips, while Iurie Apostolachi on health grounds. The Liberal and Democrat MPs had by 49 absences. Liberals Victor Popa and Vlad Lupan and Democrat lawmaker Stella Jantuan were absent from many sittings owing to trips, while Vasile Botnari and Adrian Candu absented themselves without reason. In the autumn-winter session, the group of Socialists had no absence. Unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea was absent in the second half of the year. He had two motivated and two unmotivated absences.
