Communist MP seeks to limit opposition MPs’ access to microphone in Parliament

The communist MP Iuri Eriomin requested the Parliament’s leadership, at Friday’s plenary sitting on November 24, to limit the opposition MPs’ access to the microphones positioned in the Parliament’s sitting hall. Eriomin declared that “it became a common occurrence for MPs to offend people”. The Parliament’s Regulations allow switching off microphones of such MPs, showing them “a yellow card” or even pulling them out of the hall, communist MP warned. According to him, “such a conduct is unlawful and they (opposition MPs) dishonor the name of MP of Moldova”. Eriomin made these statements as a result of an exchange of retorts between “Moldova Noastra” Alliance’s leader Serafim Urecheanu and Parliament’s deputy head Maria Postoico.
